As a teen growing up in North Idaho and Montana I was always fascinated by God’s beautiful creation.  The mountains, rivers and lakes of the region are some of the most beautiful in all the world.  My inspiration and desire to attempt to duplicate this majesty has always been in my heart and soul. Â
Before I was 15, I was painting posters for a few of the up-and-coming rock bands of the 1960’s.  My first commissioned painting was of an old stone shed in the back yard of my high school speech and drama teacher’s home, in Coeur d Alene, Idaho. Â
The summer before my junior year in high school, I had the privilege of traveling with a small group of college art students that included daily instruction from two art professors from Washington State University and North Idaho College.  We traveled throughout the Northwest drawing and painting the countryside.  the highlight of this experience was visiting the gallery of Charles M. Russell and spending two amazing days painting in Glacier National Park.Â

I am now and will always consider myself a student of Fine Art. Â
My early days as a painter were influenced by the works of Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, John Singer Sargent and Paul Cézanne.  I love impressionism most, and my paintings tend to lean in that direction.
I have had the pleasure and privilege to study and learn from some of the Country’s great artists.  I want to thank my dear friends at Scottsdale Artist School, Tennessee Master painters, Roger Dale Brown, James Himsworth, Kevin Menck and Stonegate Studios of Franklin, Tennessee.  My Arizona teachers include Kevin McPherson, Ed Mell, Bill Lundquist and James Coulter and many thanks for their incredible instruction, mentorship, knowledge and insight into every painting and drawing I have completed in the last 15 years.Â
